Tips for developing your own resume
Your resume is the most important marketing document you may ever write, it is more than just a list of what you have done in the past. Written properly it can generate interviews instantly for you and open many doors leading to successful employment.
Having done an in-depth analysis of your experience, skill sets, accomplishments and education, consider how these skills can be applied to benefit an employer's needs. In so doing, determine what format would work best for you and highlight your accomplishments, skills and capabilities using active verbs and well-constructed sentences so that an employer can see the benefit of your background. More importantly, demonstrate what tangible benefits you can provide an employer using numbers, dollars and percentage whenever possible to quantify your accomplishments. Use appropriate profession-based and industry terminologies to emphasize your knowledge, experience and results. Each bullet point in your resume serves to illustrate important areas of your background so make sure that your bullet points are concise and to the point. Eliminate irrelevant, controversial or negative information such as religion, gender and personal data. Your resume should be positive and impressive to wow employers.
